Darren Anderton: 'New Spurs stadium will attract the world's best players and keep Pochettino'

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England star Darren Anderton believes the club's new stadium will help attract the best players in world football.

Spurs' new 62,062-seater ground is set to finally open on Wednesday night for the Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

Anderton was among the Spurs Legends, including Paul Gascoigne, Jurgen Klinsmann and David Ginola, who took on Inter Milan in the stadium's second test event on Saturday in front of 41,000 fans to help the ground gain its required safety certificates to open fully.

The 47-year-old was blown away by the stadium.

David Howells reveals what players first notice at Spurs' stadium and what Dimitar Berbatov said

“I loved it, it was amazing. People always ask me what I loved about playing with Spurs and it was always playing here in the special stadium that it was. But now you come in and it’s just another world," he said.

"I’ve been fortunate to go to some of the best stadiums in the world, and this is up there."

He added: "It really does feel like a bigger White Hart Lane. I think that’s because it’s on the same site and you do have the same drive in and things like that. The same memories.

"I loved it. It’s definitely ready for Wednesday.”

Anderton believes the stadium will help Tottenham bring the world's best to north London and keep the stars they've got.

“It should help bring in the best players in the world, it should help keep the best players that we have, it should help keep the manager," he said.

"Everything’s positive about it and the fans are going to love coming here every week and watching the team.”
