Darqueze Dennard reportedly down to Bengals, Chiefs and mystery team

Free-agent cornerback Darqueze Dennard has apparently narrowed his choices down to three teams.

As expected, one is the Cincinnati Bengals. Prior reports made it known Dennard also had a visit with the Kansas City Chiefs. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, another mystery team is in the mix, too.

Dennard has had a softer-than-expected market. Speculation suggested he was seeking boundary-corner money as opposed to slot. The latter is catching up to the former quickly around the league, but the Bengals restricting Dennard to the slot out of college might have hurt his asking price on the open market.

From the way things have gone, it seems like the Bengals offered an initial number and sat on it, comfortably letting Dennard test the waters of free agency.

This will potentially come down to money, with the Bengals still in the running for now.
