Dark Sky Films acquires U.S. rights for Mary Dauterman's debut horror film Booger.

Dark Sky Films, a renowned distributor of horror films, has recently acquired the U.S. rights to the debut feature film 'Booger' directed by Mary Dauterman. The film stars Grace Glowicki in the lead role as Anna, a New Yorker who tragically loses her best friend and roommate, Izzy (played by Sofia Dobrushin). As Anna mourns the loss, she embarks on a desperate search for Izzy's cat, Booger, which ultimately results in her being bitten on the hand by the feline.

What follows is a series of disturbing events as Anna begins to exhibit feline traits, causing her personal and professional life to crumble. The film explores the boundaries of horror, offering audiences a unique and memorable viewing experience.

Speaking about the acquisition, Giles Edwards, from Dark Sky Films, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, 'It's great to see filmmakers like Mary Dauterman pushing the boundaries of horror and delivering something truly memorable. We're thrilled to be bringing this film to audiences worldwide.'

'Booger' boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Garrick Bernard, Marcia DeBonis, David Rysdahl, and indie icon Heather Matarazzo. The film is produced by Ley Line Entertainment, the production company behind the Oscar-winning 'Everything Everywhere All At Once,' and Neon Heart Productions, known for their work on 'Shiva Baby.'

Mary Dauterman, a talented short-film director making her feature debut, expressed her excitement about partnering with Dark Sky Films, stating, 'I’m so excited to be partnering with horror kings Dark Sky Films. I feel like they truly understand this disgusting genre mashup of a comedy, and I can’t wait to bring Booger to the world together.'

The world premiere of 'Booger' took place at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, where it received positive reception from audiences and critics alike.

The distribution agreement was negotiated by Giles Edwards from Dark Sky Films and Ryan Kampe, the President of Visit Films. The film is produced by Lexi Tannenholtz and executive produced by Neon Heart Productions, Ley Line Entertainment, Sanctuary Content, One Two Twenty Entertainment, and Lizzie Shapiro.

With Dark Sky Films behind its distribution, 'Booger' is set to mesmerize horror fans worldwide with its boundary-pushing storytelling and unique blend of genres. As audiences eagerly await its release, Mary Dauterman's debut feature promises to offer a thrilling and unforgettable cinematic experience.
