Darius Leonard still motivated by Pro Bowl snub

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard had quite the rookie season in 2018. He finished as an All-Pro, led the league in tackles and earned the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

However, Leonard was snubbed a Pro Bowl selection. While that might not be a big deal as it had no bearing on the season, the SC State product is still motivated by it.

Leonard finished an incredible rookie season leading the league with 163 tackles (111 solo). He also recorded 7.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions. Those numbers and his impact in the middle of the Colts defense allowed for an All-Pro selection.

Leonard also added that he’s looking to play with more speed this season. He came in his rookie year weighing 234 pounds but wound up finishing the season at 218. He said Monday that he’s arrived around the 221 range and will be looking to stay that way during the season.

The Colts have a foundational piece with Leonard manning the middle of the defense, and he seems motivated to have an even better campaign in Year 2.
