Darius Campbell Danesh's lookalike brothers break silence after tragic death

Darius Campbell Danesh's brothers have broken their silence a month after the Pop Idol star's death.

The singer and actor was found dead aged 41 at his US apartment in Minnesota last month.

His cause of death was later confirmed in a doctor's report, finding that he had died after inhaling a gas used to treat his chronic neck pain following a horror car smash.

Taking to social media, his heartbroken siblings Aria and Cyrus wrote: "Brother, we will miss you so much.

"You were a supernova star, shining light and love to so many.

"It was the greatest privilege to be your brother for all these years.

"While your earthly presence has passed, your spirit will forever be with us. We will celebrate and love you, always.

"Until we meet again, Aria and Cyrus".

Posting on Aria's Instagram page, the brothers shared a picture of the siblings celebrating with Darius at the backstage party for his theatre production of From Here To Eternity.

Another photo sees the family gathered for a birthday party in which Darius looks happy and relaxed.

While a third snap shows the star with his hands clasped together, with a cap saying Believe or Leave.

The much-loved singer - who was known as Darius Danesh when he made his first bid for fame in ITV show Popstars in 2001 - also appeared on the first Pop Idol in 2002, finishing third behind Gareth Gates and eventual winner Will Young.

He famously declined an offer from tycoon Simon Cowell to sign a record deal and instead worked on Colourblind himself with producer Steve Lillywhite, whose credits include U2 and the Rolling Stones.

It was a UK number one and his album Dive In also ranked in the UK top 10.

After news of his tragic death broke, fans and famous faces flocked to social media to pay their respects.

Music mogul Simon Cowell said: "I first saw Darius on television over 20 years ago and I got to know him really well.

“He was charismatic, funny and just a great person to be with.

“His passing, for someone so young, is an absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to his family and friends.”
