A family missing for 48 hours in far west New South Wales has been found safe and well after an extensive search by police and local station workers.

Darian Aspinall, 27, her children Winter Bellamy, 2, and Koda Bellamy, 4, and their 50-year-old grandmother Leah Gooding had been missing since Sunday.

They were found by a helicopter crew with their car bogged on a road known to Tibooburra locals as "the cut line".

Police said the family had travelled the Warri Gate Road to Tibooburra and onto the Wanaaring Road before becoming stuck.

One member of the family has sustained a minor injury and been taken to Tiboobura Hospital for assessment.

Concerns had grown for the family since Sunday afternoon when they were last seen leaving the Noccundra Roadhouse, just north of the Queensland border.

Their destination was pre-booked accommodation in Packsaddle, about 220 kilometres from Broken Hill, but they did not check in, leading to the police search.

Police believe Darian Aspinall and her family were moving to South Australia.  (Supplied: NSW Police)

Police from NSW, Queensland and South Australia searched the Tibooburra area and back roads near Packsaddle, Wilcannia and Broken Hill with assistance from helicopters.

Barrier Police District crime manager Tom Aylett said the family were relocating from Queensland to Adelaide.
