'Daredevil's' Season 2 teaser trailer is a meditation on the divine power of superheroes

Jan. 07--The power of Marvel compels you to watch the newly released "Daredevil" Season 2 teaser trailer, which is set up like an elaborate church altar. Perfect for the guilt-heavy vigilante Matt Murdock.

Also revealed was the official release date for the new series: March 18, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific. That's one week before Warner Bros. and DC Comics' "Batman v. Superman" movie launches.

As for the computer-generated altar itself, it's fairly reminiscent of the stained glass cover from the 1987 comic "Daredevil: Born Again" by David Mazzucchelli. Which aligns with the commonly held fan speculation that the second season will be pulling hard from this period of the "Daredevil" comics.

Alas, there's still no new footage of Punisher, played by "Walking Dead's" Jon Bernthal, but we can have patience for the gun-happy anti-hero. The only plot available in the Netflix and Marvel release is pretty vague, but the studios are already building up for the big streaming series conclusion that will link Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the yet-to-be-cast Iron Fist with Daredevil in one glorious Defenders battle.

Here's the full statement:

"The second season debuts amidst the release of the Netflix original Marvel's Jessica Jones, the upcoming Marvel's Luke Cage and future release of Marvel's Iron Fist, all leading up to the teaming of the main characters in Marvel's The Defenders to premiere only on Netflix. The action-drama will premiere with thirteen (13) one-hour episodes."
