Darcy Oake's trick on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions could kill him as medics are called

The upcoming Britain's Got Talent: The Champions series features a trick so dangerous that medics had to be on standby in case it killed the act.

BGT 2014's daredevil illusionist Darcy Oake leaves the audience on the edges of their seats waiting to see if the act goes to plan, Mirror Online can reveal.

A source told us: "Darcy left everyone pretty petrified. It's something completely different to what he's done before. The audience were completely silent."

Judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams , Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were left "completely gobsmacked" by the risky stunt.

The source added: "Producers and the judges were on the edges of their seats as medics were poised to rush into the stage if it went wrong."

Mirror Online has contacted ITV for comment.

It has been officially confirmed that the special season will kick off on August 31 and last for six weeks.

Several famous faces were confirmed to be taking part in a promo that aired on Good Morning Britain on Friday.

Singing champion Paul Potts made an appearance, while father-and-son duo Stavros Flatley are seen whipping off their shirts

Also returning is 2008 winner George Sampson, 2011 champion Jai McDowall is back, 2014 winners Collabro, magician Ben Hart and dance duo Twist and Pulse.

Ashleigh Butler is returning without Pudsey, who sadly died two years ago and is being replaced by Sully.

Comedians Lost Voice Guy and Jack Caroll will also be bringing the laughs.

Reigning champion Colin Thackery will be belting out a song once again.

Each week, two acts make it through to the grand finale – but viewers at home won't get to vote.

A Golden Buzzer act will be chosen by one of the judges or Ant and Dec, while the second is voted through by superfans in the arena audience.
