Darcy Oake recalls meeting with 'bro' Prince Harry that left him starstruck at Queen's 'wild' birthday bash

Britain's Got Talent illusionist Darcy Oake has some high profile pals - even in "bro" Prince Harry .

Darcy, who appeared on BGT back in 2014 and again last year for The Champions series, was performing at the Queen's own private birthday celebrations when he struck up a rapport with the Duke of Sussex.

The 32 year old, who kicks off a nationwide tour next week, also revealed that Her Majesty managed to keep a steady poker face as he dazzled 80 members of the Royal Family with his tricks.

Darcy told: "It was her 90th birthday, not the public celebration, but the private one in Windsor Castle....it was wild, 80 members of the Royal Family.

"I was trying not to look directly at her, because I was thinking, 'Oh my God, the Queen's there!' She seemed unfazed.

"I got to meet them all afterwards, and I had a super cool chat with Prince Harry. It felt like we were bros!

"It was great to speak with him, we had a bit of banter."

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle recently announced their intention to step back as senior royals, and will be splitting their time between the UK and Darcy's native Canada.

Even though he now lives in London, Darcy's excited to have Harry and Meghan - and he reckons his fellow Canadians are on board too.

"Everyone's so supportive of them," he said of the Royal Family, "A lot of Canadians are so fascinated by the Royal Family.

"I don't think I've ever heard a negative opinion of them in Canada."

Darcy returned to the BGT stage last year to stun judges Simon Cowell , Alesha Dixon , Amanda Holden and David Walliams .

One trick saw his locked and handcuffed inside a box, hoisted into the air, having to make his escape before the box exploded.

As the explosion went off and the box was torn open, Darcy was nowhere to be seen, only to reappear on a platform in the middle of the studio.

He recently left Good Morning Britain co-host Ben Shepherd lost for words after putting Kate Garraway in a box and making her disappear.

Now he's taking brand new material on the road for his Edge of Reality tour, which kicks off in Newcastle next Saturday.

"It's a brand new show, with a new approach," he revealed, "It's completely different to anything I've done. A lot of the tricks are brand new."
