Dara Ó Briain has slammed the BBC's decision to sack Danny Baker over his 'racist' tweet about the new royal baby .
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor this week, DJ and pundit Danny took to Twitter to share a post that was deemed offensive and inappropriate.
Danny was sacked from his hosting job on Radio 5 live after sharing a picture of a couple walking hand in hand with a well-dressed chimpanzee.
He captioned it: "Royal baby leaves hospital".
Danny's post was met with backlash from people who accused him of likening the royal baby to a monkey.
Dara spoke out against the scandal surrounding his fellow broadcaster's post.
Wrong Danny Baker targeted by vicious trolls confusing him with shamed BBC star

He said: "What? Danny Baker got fired? But he immediately apologised and deleted the tweet!
"I mean, literally, in the event of mistakenly causing offence, what else can you do? Genuinely amazed by that."
The comic later clarified that he wasn't "excusing" Danny's tweet.
He added: "Also amazed by how many thought that by posting this, I was excusing the original tweet. Of course I wasn’t.
"The Irish had a century of that monkey s**t too, y’know. Ultimately, though, I'd like that to hope if/when I f**k up, you might accept an apology."

Danny, 61, also tweeted about his sacking.
He said: "Just got fired from @ bbc5live. For the record - it was red sauce. Always."
He added: "The call to fire me from @ bbc5live was a masterclass of pompous faux-gravity. Took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah. Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking. # F**kem"
