Dara O'Briain responds to Twitter attacks following Late Late Show sketch which left some bemused

Dara O'Briain was forced to reply to Twitter attacks on Friday night after his sketch on the Late Late Show.

The comedian outlined his plan for a new lockdown level six on the show which left Ryan Tubridy and most viewers in stitches.

However, some viewers were less impressed by the jokes and took aim at the Irish man on social media.

One viewer tweeted directly to Dara: "Never got his jokes at all. Got free tickets to his gig in Cork and came away at half time. I’ve never in my life left anything at halftime because I think it’s the height of ignorance."

With the comedian replying: "You sent that reply straight to me Deirdre. Lovely to hear from you."

Deirdre chimed back saying: "Wow.. not funny and passive aggressive as well."

With Dara handing her a mute for her jibes, the star added: "Jesus, are you still attacking me? You stay classy Deirdre! Have a mute for yourself now."

Another compared his level of jokes to RTE presenter George Lee which Dara again smartly replied to thanking the person for their not so nice thoughts.

But all in all the comments were positive with Dara thanking those who did enjoy his segment on the show.

He added: "Thanks to everyone who enjoyed that silliness on the @RTELateLateShow. You all keep well, and hopefully you won’t be at any of the levels too long."
