Rangers' youngsters came away with huge 4-3 win against Ajax's Under-19 team as they edged a seven-goal thriller in the Netherlands.
James Maxwell got the development squad's afternoon off to a fast start on 18 minutes after some good work in the build-up from Nathan Young-Coombes and Dapo Mebude giving the young Gers the lead at the Ajax youth academy ground.
Mebude doubled Rangers ' advantage just after the half hour mark, before getting his second of the afternoon just before half-time to give the Ibrox kids a comfortable 3-0 lead.
It got even better for the visitors after Young-Coombes managed to hold off the Ajax defence to find a fourth goal just four minutes after the break.
Ajax gave Rangers a fright though as they tried to stage a comeback, pulling one back via Naci Unuvar with 25 minutes to go.
Neraysho Kasanwirjo converted a penalty minutes later before Youri Regeer made it 4-3 as he drilled home a cross from the left with 10 minutes to go.
But the youngsters managed to hold on for their second win in just a matter of days, after securing a 2-0 win over Fleetwood Town earlier this week.
Several of the more prominent names in the Development squad's such as Jamie Barjonas and Kieran Wright were missing, with a number of the Premiership side's Under-18 squad stepping up.
Craig Mulholland's academy approach has been lauded and there's a host of players from the academy that Steven Gerrard has given a chance to impress with senior side.
