Danuel House Jr. donates $20,000 for COVID-19 relief in Houston

Rockets forward and native Houstonian Danuel House Jr. is donating $20,000 to the Houston Food Bank, which will be used to provide 60,000 meals to local families amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

On his Instagram account, the 26-year-old writes:

It’s my honor to do my part to support the COVID-19 relief efforts here in Houston in partnership with the Houston Food Bank to provide 60,000 meals to families. Thank you to all the frontline workers who continue to support us near and far — the doctors, nurses, medical stuff, meal providers, and so many more. We’re so grateful. Please stay healthy and stay at home, everyone.

“It means a lot to help out people other than my family members,” House told Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston. “I love helping the people of Houston. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without them.”

House has averaged 9.9 points (38.2% on 3-pointers) and 4.0 rebounds in 28.0 minutes per game over two seasons with the Rockets.
