Dantonio mum on changes with Brad Salem running MSU offense

If you bet that Mark Dantonio wouldn’t give any details on what to expect with changes in MSU’s offense, please head to the window and collect your winnings.

In the least surprising development of the 2019 football team media day, Dantonio declined to elaborate much on changes after shuffling the entire offensive staff at the conclusion of a disappointing 2018 season.

When asked for a word to describe what the offense might look like, Dantonio told gathered media, “It’ll be a question.”

He then smirked as the room laughed. Nobody expected the notoriously tight-lipped Dantonio to give anything up, but the question had to be asked. I’d wager he was prepped for any iteration of that question and a clever way to answer it by not answering it while making clear he wouldn’t be answering it.

“I’m not going to elaborate any further than that,” Dantonio continued.

After talking with players and coaches throughout the day, the mandate on secrecy regarding offensive changes is quite obvious.

Quarterback Brian Lewerke was asked what was up with the secrecy surrounding the offense and he played it as though he wasn’t aware there was secrecy around the subject, then implied we’ll have to wait until Tulsa to see what it’ll look like.

Until then we’ll continue to read through tea leaves and read too far into comments about what MSU will look like on offense this season.

Maybe we’ll get a jet sweep to the short side on the opening play of the season.
