Danny Wilson and Sam Nicholson part of worst MLS team ever as former Rangers defender 'hangs head in shame'

Danny Wilson and Sam Nicholson are now officially part of the worst MLS team in history after an awful start to the season.

Colorado Rapids have lost nine and drawn two of their opening 11 games making them worse than the 2007 Real Salt Lake team, who managed to pick up six points from their first 11 games.

Former Rangers defender Wilson has told his team-mates they should hang their heads in shame as he slaughtered his side.

Wilson scored in the 3-2 defeat to, ironically, Real Salt Lake before being subbed 10 minutes later.

His former Hearts team-mate Nicholson is also part of the team but he lasted the full 90 minutes as his side chased an equaliser.

And Wilson said: “Obviously it doesn’t give me any satisfaction, being part of that.

“I think we can all hang our heads in shame for having the worst start.

“But we’re the people who are here, we’re the only people who can do anything about it.

“There have been games recently where we’ve been not far away, and I think that is the most frustrating thing.

“All we can do is put the work in and try to turn it around.”

Wilson moved to the MLS in January 2018 after leaving Rangers, while Nicholson joined from Minnesota United last summer.
