Danny Rose unleashes fresh Premier League blast as he claims footballers are being treated like 'lab rats'

Newcastle left-back Danny Rose has once again criticised the English Premier League for using footballers as "lab rats" in the upcoming restart.

Rose has previously blasted the league for a lack of consideration towards players' fears at returning to competitive football.

He called the plans to resume the league a "f***ing joke" on his Instagram profile earlier this month.

And now Rose, loaned at the Magpies from Tottenham Hotspur, has doubled down on his position as he claimed the stars on the pitch are being treated like test subjects.

In conversation with the Lockdown Tactics podcast, the England cap said: "I’m dying to get back to football but just with the things that are happening right now, people are going through this coronavirus pandemic a lot worse than me, I don’t want to be complaining about everything.

"Just off the fact that people are suggesting we should go back to football, like we’re guinea pigs or lab rats.

"We’re going to experiment this phase and see if it works or not.

"I can just imagine people at home saying, ‘Well they earn that amount of money so they should be going back’."

Over 700 tests for Covid-19 across all 20 Premier League clubs returned just six positive results.

And some clubs are back in training in small groups ahead of a planned resumption date of June 12.
