Danny Rose 'shocking' and 'abysmal' for England against Czech Republic, says Roy Keane

Danny Rose's performance for England during Friday night's loss to Czech Republic has been branded "shocking" and "abysmal" by Roy Keane.

The left-back, starting the game ahead of Leicester City's Ben Chilwell after a tough start to the season with Tottenham, was part of a back four who struggled all evening in Prague.

Keane highlighted the performances of Harry Maguire and Michael Keane in central defence and questioned their ability to learn from mistakes before singling out Rose for more severe criticism.

Acting as a pundit on ITV, Keane said: "There's no need to panic, Gareth's record of the last few years as been outstanding.

"But there are other parts of the game [to be concerned about] like players switching off.

"My concern, always, for this players like Maguire and Keane is that they are mid-20s and, sometimes, I think these players do not learn [from mistakes]. We can't keep waiting for these lads

"Rose's performance tonight, my goodness. Someone's got to get hold of that guy. He was shocking! Abysmal! I think he will be the same in another three or four years.

"Some players do not learn from their mistakes at the highest level. You will suffer from it."
