And after joining Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur, the England's international's problem doesn't appear to be the language barrier.
Rather it's finding the right dressing room.
Called up for England duty for Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo, the right-back suffered an embarrassing moment when arriving at St Mary's Stadium on Tuesday night.
As the rest of the Three Lions make their way into the dressing room, Trippier somehow manages to walk straight past it.
Almost as if he didn't notice the room in which the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Harry Maguire and James Maddison among others walked into.
And instead of consoling his ex-club teammate, Danny Rose found the incident funny and laughed in Trippier's face.

So Trippier seems to be having trouble locating the right dressing rooms.
