Danny Rose reveals the details of Harry Kane's half time team talk in comeback win against Ajax

Tottenham defender Danny Rose has revealed more details about Harry Kane's talk in the dressing room that helped to inspire a Spurs fight back in the Champions League semi-final.

Tottenham were on 3-0 down on aggregate going into the second half at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, with it looking likely that Ajax would easily make it through to the Champions League final. But Spurs had other ideas and staged a dramatic comeback. Three goals from Lucas Moura, including one in the last second of added time saw the Lilywhites go through via the away goal rule.

It has since emerged that England captain Harry Kane did not hold back in the dressing room during half-time. Kieran Trippier revealed just after the game that his teammate was going 'mental ', now Rose has given more details.

“He mentioned that we were showing Frenkie de Jong too much respect and said ‘who’s the one that’s going to get around him and show him that he’s in for a game." Rose revealed in an interview with TalkSport .

“He asked if we wanted our season to end like this and once Harry goes, he goes and he’s very passionate.

“It’s a great side to see because it shows he cares. He’s got all these goals and accolades, but is never satisfied.

“He’s a great England captain to have and a great club one, too.”

Kane has missed the last few weeks with an ankle injury that he picked up in the Champions League quarter final tie against Manchester City, but is hopeful for a return for the Champions League final against Liverpool on June 1st.
