Danny Rose, Paulo Gazzaniga and every player officially announced to be leaving Tottenham today

June 30 is a very important date in the football calendar with a number of players leaving clubs following the expiration of their contracts.

Players who are then released enter free agency and thus are free to sign for another club on a permanent basis for no fee.

At the end of May, Tottenham confirmed the departures of several players, including long-term servant and fan favourite, Danny Rose, as well as number two goalkeeper, Paulo Gazzaniga.

Signed from Leeds United in 2007, Rose spent time on loan at Watford, Peterborough United, Bristol City and Sunderland before establishing himself as a regular in Spurs’ side in the 2013/14 season.

He went on to make 214 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals, including a memorable volley on his Premier League debut against north London rivals, Arsenal.

“I’m over the moon that I made the choice to come here in 2007,” he told Tottenham’s official website. “I wish we could have won something together but the club are not far way from that and obviously I wish everybody at the club the best of luck going forward.”

He has since been confirmed to be signing for Watford and remain in the Premier League for the 2021/22 season.

Gazzaniga, on the other hand, signed for Spurs in 2017 from Southampton and made 37 appearances in all competitions.

“We thank Danny and Paulo for their service and wish them well for the future,” said Tottenham.

Although Rose and Gazzaniga are the two more notable names on the exit list, several academy prospects are also leaving today as the club confirmed the departures of the following: Enock Asante, Chay Cooper, Keenan Ferguson, George Marsh, Rodel Richards, Jack Roles, Aaron Skinner, Kazaiah Sterling, Shilow Tracey, Eddie Carrington and Tarelle Whittaker.

“We wish them all the best in the next stage of their careers.”
