Danny Rohl has confirmed Rangers' squad will return for pre-season early in a bid to qualify for the Europa League.
The Light Blues endured a difficult end to their season as they collapsed after the split to fall out of the Scottish Premiership title race.
A third place finish for Rohl's men meant they now face qualifiers for the competition and they will enter in the third round. That means their matches will come thick and fast but will do so just days after the new season begins.
So the head coach has had to rearrange the club's plans and has revealed, in an interview with German media, that he is ready to call his players back to the training complex within four weeks.
It also means there will be fewer friendly matches for Rohl and his squad to get back into the swing of things. One such fixture might have been against Rohl's former club FSV Zwickau. The 37-year-old was watching the club take on Erzgebirge Aue over the weekend when he detailed Gers' agenda.
Speaking to BILD, he said: "We would have loved to make such a game possible. For example, with a training camp in the Weimar region and then test matches in Dresden and at FSV Zwickau.
"I would have liked to have planned a little tour of eastern Germany for us.
"We'll start training again on June 19th because we expect to start the European Cup qualifying rounds early.
"That would be too tight a schedule."
