The family of a man murdered for his Rolex watch by moped thugs told of their devastation today, as they issued a new plea for information to help catch one of his killers.

Father of one Danny Pearce, 31, was shot at and stabbed by two men who demanded his £5,000 Rolex watch as he left a bar in Greenwich in July last year.

One of the men, Jordan Bailey-Mascoll, 26, was jailed for the murder but his accomplice, known only as “Ghost”, is still at large.

Mr Pearce’s sister Amanda, 46, has urged anyone with information on the identity of the second suspect to come forward.

Speaking today, her birthday, she said: “There is a still a man out there who had a huge part in the death of my brother.

"My sister and I went to court for two weeks and heard the details of what those monsters did to my brother, and this person is still walking the streets, he is free.

"He can do whatever he wants. Why should he be allowed to do this?

“My family have a life sentence. Even though nothing is going to bring Danny back we need some inner peace of knowing they are both behind bars.”

Mr Pearce’s mother Jan Pearce, 63, added: “Justice will not be done until both the men who callously and mercilessly targeted my son are behind bars.

"We need to get this murderer off the streets — who knows who will be next?”

Mr Pearce, a builder, had just left a jazz bar in Greenwich when he was targeted by the thugs for his Rolex.

He refused to hand it over and both men attacked him, one stabbing him repeatedly.

Today, police said one of the men fired shots at Mr Pearce and that one of the bullets grazed his back.

Detective Inspector Jo Sidaway, leading the murder investigation, said: “The level of violence used against Danny was truly horrendous. We are concerned that the suspect will go on to commit further violent offences.”

Police are still trying to trace the stolen watch, a silver Rolex Datejust 2.

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8721 4005 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
