- Former England midfielder and BBC pundit Danny Murphy provided an update on the fate of his missing cat Bob after a video of him sharing details of his disappearance went viral earlier this week.
- Murphy shared the story while commentating on Norway against Ivory Coast on Tuesday. During the game, which featured Fulham winger Oscar Bobb playing for Norway, Murphy revealed that his cat Bob had jumped into the back of a Royal Mail van and was lost.
- The story sparked interest on social media and during Thursday’s last-32 meeting between Spain and Austria, Murphy addressed Bob’s fate.
- He said that while the cat returned “six or seven weeks later”, it had gone “feral” and couldn’t be reintegrated into the family home. As a result, he ended up living with his friend’s parents in Preston.
- “That was the life he had and now he has passed away, unfortunately, many years ago. Thanks for all the concern those who have been messaging us.”
