Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy reckons Kieran Tierney still has some way to go before he can reach the heights of Liverpool icon Andy Robertson.
The duo are regularly compared at international level and it's become an increasingly regular poser among Premier League pundits and fans since the former Celtic star's £25m move to Arsenal.
Tierney has been firing since lockdown and that has led many to rank the pair against each other - something Robertson admits he could do without.
And Murphy reckons Tierney faces an uphill battle be able to match the levels reached by his compatriot who is a regular for Jurgen Klopp's all-conquering side.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 43-year-old said: "No. (Robertson) is unbelievable, consistent performance level and mentality.
"The fitness he has got and the quality in the final third.
"Look, I say no, i don't know if Tierney can get to that level as the level is so high.
"Robertson has set the left-back bar remarkably high. He is in the top three in the Premier League for assists.
"Never mind Trent, what both of those full-backs are doing at Liverpool is phenomenal."
And Murphy, a lifelong Liverpool fan, agreed with host Jim White's assertion that the Scotland captain might be the bargain of the century.
Robertson joined the Premier League champions for a knockdown £8m in the summer of 2017 after Hull City's relegation from the top flight.
Murphy noted: "It was more a less a free, because the young lad (Kevin) Stewart went to Hull for a similar price."
