Danny Mills reveals why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'can't compete' with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer face each other for the seventh time on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Reds will want to continue their unbeaten start to the season, while United are looking to regain some form after a disappointing spell.

Solskjaer is under mounting pressure and pundit Danny Mills has explained why he thinks the United legend 'cannot compete' with the likes of Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel.

He wrote in his column for the Mail on Sunday : "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unlucky in that Guardiola, Klopp and Tuchel are the best in the world.

"They set the bar extremely high and, compared to them, Solskjaer is inferior.

I don’t believe Solskjaer can compete with his rivals tactically or in making big man- management decisions.

"I don’t think Tuchel, Klopp or Guardiola lose too much sleep thinking about keeping players happy.

"They are clear-minded in doing what is best for the team.. Klopp sanctioned the sale of Philippe Coutinho, controversial at the time, because the Brazilian didn’t fit into the big picture."

The Reds last trip to Old Trafford ended in a 4-2 victory and Klopp will be hopeful of a similar result to the one in May earlier this year.

Both Manchester City and Chelsea have won their respective games this weekend, Chelsea thrashed Norwich 7-0 at Stamford Bridge, while City comfortably beat Brighton 4-1.

Now third in the table, Liverpool need a win to reclaim second place from Pep Guardiola's side and to remain just a point behind Chelsea.

Solskjaer's side already have some work to do if they're to claw themselves back into a title race, and they'll want that to start with a win over their rivals.
