Danny Mills makes 'impossible' Steve Bruce claim after Newcastle's poor start

Danny Mills claims he would not be surprised if Steve Bruce walked away from his position at Newcastle United after a dismal start to the season.

The Magpies are without a win in all competitions this season and are currently second bottom of the Premier League with pressure beginning to mount on the head coach.

Mills believes it's almost "an impossible" job for Bruce, with the club in the midst of an ongoing legal battle and growing discontent among the Toon fanbase.

Bruce has repeatedly said he will not walk away from managing his boyhood club and Mike Ashley is seemingly content with the head coach's tenure, as long as they remain a Premier League outfit.

However, with pressure building as the Magpies remain winless, Mills says he would not be surprised if Bruce did walk away from the club.

Mills told Football Insider : “It was always going to be on the cards simply because of the pressure that he’s under, it really is tough for him.

“You think if he were to walk away would you be that surprised? Probably not, is the answer.

“You just have to wait and see what he decides to do but for sure, if were to walk away you wouldn’t be that surprised.

“It’s almost an impossible job at Newcastle United.”
