Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills believes that the Elland Road side are set for promotion to the Premier League this time around.
Leeds lost out in the play-off semi-finals last term after finishing in third place after a brilliant season and Marcelo Bielsa's team are already leading the way this term.
The Whites' 2-0 win over Barnsley on Sunday saw them return to the top of the pile and Mills believes they can stay there despite some worrying signs at Oakwell.
He told talkSPORT: "I was concerned. It looked like another one of those Leeds game where they were going to dominate possession and create lots of chances.
"They did ride their luck at time and I think Barnsley had a real go. It was a little bit feisty but in the end, they managed to get those goals. Eddie Nketiah coming off the bench.
Mills is confident that his ex-side are the best in the league but he wants them to be more clinical in front of goals.
He added: "If you finish above Leeds, you get automatic promotion. I think Leeds are the best side in the Championship.
"They have improved their squad on last season but they have to go out there and prove it.
"It's all right being the best squad on paper but they have to prove it week in and week out.
"They have got to start putting the ball in the back of the net a little bit easier. They haven't done that a few times this season, against Swansea and Forest.
"They have come a cropper with silly little mistakes but they have to put games to bed quicker.
