Danny Miller 'speechless' as he is crowned King of the Castle in I'm A Celeb final 2021

Ant and Dec crowned Emmerdale star Danny Miller as King of the Castle as I'm a Celebrity 2021 came to an end on Sunday.

The soap actor, who is best known for his role as Aaron Dingle, was speechless as his name was read out as the winner.

Runner-up and fellow soap star Simon Gregson was quick to celebrate his campmate and later told Danny that he was "chuffed" for him winning.

Joining them in the final was pop star Frankie Bridge, after one of the bookies favourites footballer David Ginola finished in fourth place on Saturday night.

Speaking of his win, Danny said: "Wow, I can't believe it. I cant believe it mate. It's so sick. I am speechless for once."

He added: "Honestly from the bottom of my heart and my family's heart, thank you so much. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me bar my son, I can't believe it I am in shock."

Danny welcomed his baby son to the world just a few weeks before entering the Castle.

He said: "I have made no secret about the fact that I wanted to be able to give him and set him up for a good future. I wasn't financially set for that and this is an opportunity to do that."

"It would set me and my family up. I feel like I have done it. I feel proud of myself and I hope my family are as well."

His win follows a turbulent series, with Richard Madeley having to leave early on due to illness and Storm Arwen battering the set with wind and rain meaning that, for the first time in I'm a Celeb history, the show was taken off air for three days and the contestants were put into secure isolation.

There were also a couple on instances of intruders having to be removed from the set after breaching the security.

Even the final had a mishap, when it was delayed by 10 minutes due to an announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in regards to coronavirus.
