Danny Miller receives apology after bouncer knocked him down in club row

Danny Miller has received an apology from the nightclub in which he was pushed to the ground on Sunday evening.

The former Emmerdale actor, 31, was knocked to the ground by a bouncer at The Hive in Skegness on Sunday following an appearance at Kush Nightclub, which is part of The Hive's late night complex.

In a shocking video, Danny is seen being pushed to the ground by a bouncer before more security staff flock towards the security staff.

In the clip, Danny is then seen standing back up before a woman stands between himself and the bouncer.

It's understood the altercation took place after Danny defended a pal who had been on the receiving end of "homophobic abuse".

Now, The Hive has issued an apology to the I'm A Celebrity 2021 winner as a spokesperson told Lincolnshire Live: " The venue and the door team would like to apologise unreservedly to Danny for the misunderstanding that lead to the unfortunate events. We hope this does not deflect from what was otherwise a great switch on event for the town.

"Danny really drew in the crowds and made the switch on event one of the best in recent years. Danny enjoyed the Ice Bar and the Lamborghini bar and will hopefully return soon."

And Taj Bola, who runs The Hive said the bouncer is 'mortified' about the incident and called it a misunderstanding.

Initially The Hive said they were investigating the incident as they issued a lengthy statement.

It read: "We are aware of the incident and the initial details are as follows. We stress that these are initial findings and investigations are still ongoing.

"Danny was in a booth enjoying the evening with some friends, some clubbers were allowed in the booth from time to time to take pictures with Danny. At some point a clubber who had come into the booth, was at first joking, but then became verbally abusive to a member of Danny's party and made some very disturbing homophobic comments.

"The member of the party was clearly distressed and Danny tried to calm the situation down. The door staff proceeded to remove the offending individual but he continued to make homophobic comments.

"Some members of the door-staff team were unaware that Danny was in fact standing up for one of his party against homophobic comments and this sadly let to an unfortunate escalation of the situation."

Meanwhile, Danny is yet to publicly respond to the incident.

Onlooker Brandon Driver, 20, recalled the incident as he said: "I was just out with some of my mates for the night and I was the only person to get out my camera quick enough to film what happened.

"I don't know if [Miller] was injured. It was a hard slam against the wall though, and he did seem to hit his head."

Despite Danny not responding to the ordeal, he has taken the time to congratulate Jill Scott on her I'm A Celeb win as his reign of King of the Castle comes to an end.

He wrote on Twitter : "Deserved winner @JillScottJS8! A pleasure to hand over the crown to you! Enjoy it!"
