He has now released a Christmas song and it is already doing battle with the likes of Adele and Ed Sheeran in the iTunes top 10.

The song titled 'Santa's Takeaway' has racked up a whopping 70,000 views in the first few hours it was released.

Danny dons a Christmas suit as he sings about what Santa wants for a takeaway in the comical music video.

All money raised from the single will be donated to food bank charity Trussell Trust and mental health foundation MIND.

The single is dedicated to Danny's partner, Carrie, who suddenly passed away at the beginning of this year.

The internet sensation appeared on Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch today (December 7) to talk about his new single.

He told the daytime TV host that it is important to him that the proceeds go to a charity dedicated to supporting mental health given his own struggles.

He said: "As soon as we put out that we were doing a Christmas song it just went absolutely nuts, and they're like 'can't wait to hear it, can't wait to hear it.'

"They've been really supportive, to be honest, have the followers, so yeah it's been great."

Asked about the charities he has chosen to support Danny added: "Yeah so two charities, obviously dealing with takeaways and food and looking at what's going on in the world today we are going to go with Trussell Trust.

"And then one that is close to me obviously is MIND because of the way I've been and the way the stuff that they've helped me with.

"I think at the moment as a country we really need those two charities and we need people to support them.

"So if you can download the song please, 100% goes to them and let's see what we can do.

"And the fact I got above Elton John and Mariah Carey was great - I love it!" he laughed.

All proceeds made from the song go to The Trust Trust and MIND, you can listen to it here http://bit.ly/SantasTakeaway.
