Danny Lee in position to make a final-day run at Colonial

FORT WORTH, Texas _ The ball curled in the 18th hole cup and the crowd went wild for the local guy, even if he is from New Zealand.

Irving resident Danny Lee birdied the 54th hole and sits just two shots back with 18 holes to play of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational. He is tied with Paul Casey at 7-under 203.

Chances of slipping on that plaid jacket, Lee wasn't biting.

"Yeah, right now, I'm not thinking about that too much," he said. "I'm hitting my irons really well, my putting has been good, but with the wind blowing 20 miles an hour, it was really hard to commit to every shot."

His patience is apparent.

Lee opened birdie-birdie to reach 8-under and finished with three birdies and bogeys on the front.

From there, he recorded eight consecutive pars before firing a wedge from 93 yards to 16 feet and announcing his presence on the Sunday radar with a closing birdie.
