Danny Ings breaks silence on future amid Manchester United transfer links

Danny Ings was coy on his future after reports emerged linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Southampton centre-forward has enjoyed a more than respectable season on the South Coast, having scored 12 Premier League goals despite spells on the sideline through injury, his haul ensuring Ralph Hasenhuttl's side maintained their topflight status.

However, with Southampton enduring a miserable second half of the campaign, reports linking Ings with a move away have appeared and the Telegraph claimed this week that United had identified the former Liverpool man as a potential summer target.

Despite Edinson Cavani signing a contract extension at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to rule out signing another striker in the transfer market, and now Ings has commented on the speculation on his future amid links to United.

”I’ve got a contract until the summer of 2022,” Ings told talkSPORT. “I haven’t really acknowledged them [transfer rumours]. I’ve just been focused on each game. Ultimately, I’ve still got a contract here. My main focus is to finish the season strong.”
