Danny Healy-Rae has invited Garth Brooks for a pint in his pub as we hear of American superstar's rumoured location

Danny Healy-Rae has said he welcomes Garth Brooks to Kerry – and has invited him for a pint in his pub.

The Independent Kerry TD told how the Healy Rae clan were heading for Dublin to see the Friends In Low Places singer at Croke Park.

But it is reported that Brooks is staying in luxurious accommodation in Kerry some 300miles away from the GAA venue – and will fly back and forth to his gigs.

Danny said he was more than welcome to stay in the Kingdom.

He told us: “We would be very welcoming of him. We look forward to him performing in Croke Park this year after the delay that was. If he is staying somewhere in Kerry, you can be sure he will be looked after.”

It has been rumoured Garth has chosen to stay in the Killarney area in a private house in the vicinity of Kerry Airport which will allow him to travel quickly and easily to Dublin to perform at Croke Park.

Though there has been no confirmation of this by the star himself it is believed that the Kingdom could indeed be his chosen venue for his Irish stay.

But Danny owns his own pub in Kilgarvan, Co Kerry and he said the American superstar is welcome to join him for a pint after his concerts.

“He’s very welcome (for a pint)”.

He told how he wasn’t attending the concerts – but that he was being “well represented there”.

He added: “All my family are going so I have to mind the house one of those evenings.”

Today, a press conference will be held at Croke Park, which will be hosted by Aiken Promotions, An Garda Síochána and Croke Park authorities.

The briefing will outline the safety and security arrangements along with the Garda Traffic Management Plan for the forthcoming Garth Brooks concerts which will take place in Croke Park on 9th, 10th and 11th Sept and 16th and 17th Sept.

As many as 400,000 fans will descend onto Drumcondra to watch the country music superstar perform across the five nights.

Croke Park will be the only European venue headlined by the singer in 2022.

And with just days to go until he first takes to the stage, the hitmaker has revealed details about the much anticipated gigs.

In a live stream on his Facebook page, he spoke about the “monstrous” stage that has been set up “solely for the Irish shows”.

“The stage is going to be long ways, going out into the crowd. They have to elevate the stage so people at the back can see. This is going to be elevated quite a lot.

“We do confetti off the rig as well, it lowers up and down. This thing is monstrous and it’s set in stone.

“Anyone who has seen a Garth show will not have seen this set-up,” he promised.

The No 1 selling solo artist in US history also gave an update on what weather he expects.

He said: “The weather is supposed to be good and cool, so hopefully we won't have anybody passing out there. Hopefully it'll be a fun party for everybody.”

It comes just days after Aiken Promotions confirmed there will be no support act any of the nights.

Gates will open at 5pm and the show is due to start at 7.30pm.
