Danny Green agrees to join Lakers after Leonard goes to Clippers

While it wasn’t the Toronto Raptors player that every Lakers fan and their family was hoping for, the Los Angeles Lakers did improve their roster in the wake of Kawhi Leonard’s decision to join the Los Angeles Clippers.

Danny Green announced via his podcast’s twitter page that he has agreed to a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Green is coming off a nice season for the Raptors in which he shot 45% from the 3-point line, helping the Raptors to a championship season. He was a key contributor in the Finals, averaging 27 minutes per game.

Green and LeBron James played together briefly on the Cleveland Cavaliers before Green eventually carved out his career as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.

Green’s strong 3-point shooting is a theme for the Lakers moves outside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, following the acquisition of accurate shooters Troy Daniels and Jared Dudley to the team on minimum deals.

With a lot of cap space and roster spots left over, the Lakers will have quite a few more roster moves to fill out their team over the next few days.
