Danny Dyer tipped to join Emmerdale after quitting EastEnders

Danny Dyer is being tipped to join Emmerdale after a dramatic exit from EastEnders.

Over the weekend, our colleague at The Mirror reported Danny Dyer, 44, will leave Albert Square this year.

The actor has played Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter since 2013.

A source said: “Danny has offers coming in left right and centre, and a lot of the things he has wanted to do he can’t because EastEnders have such strict rules about what he can and can’t do.

“It’s driven him mad at times and he’s now ready for a change. But it hasn’t been easy to walk away, BBC bosses have been desperate to keep him.”

There’s suggestions Danny has signed a £1m-a-year deal with Sky to work for them.

Although, elsewhere Betfair is suggesting Danny might switch soaps and join Emmerdale. They rate that as much more likely to happen than him joining another other soap or becoming the next James Bond - replacing Daniel Craig.

A spokesman said: “Dyer is 80/1 to don a black tuxedo and replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond and 100/1 to play the next Dr Who, while Emmerdale at 6/1 is the most likely top soap that he’ll appear on, ahead of Hollyoaks and Coronation Street.”

If Danny Dyer was to join Emmerdale, he’d follow another former Ender Ross Kemp, better known as Grant Mitchell, who appeared in the ITV soap at the start of his career.

While, former EastEnders stars Shaun Williamson, better known as ‘Barry from EastEnders’, and Danniella Westbrook have spoken of their desire to join Emmerdale.

Elsewhere, Danny Dyer is being tipped for a little bit of reality TV.

The spokesperson added: “Danny Dyer is 2/1 to swap the Queen Vic for being served jungle treats and appear on I’m A Celebrity in 2022 following his EastEnders exit.

“He danced his way through nine years of drama on EastEnders and is now 5/2 to waltz his way into the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom this year.”

We’ll keep you posted on those rumours of Danny Dyer joining Emmerdale.
