Danny Dyer smashed his way out of wardrobe after accidentally building himself inside it

Danny Dyer took a trip down memory lane in the latest episode of Sorted With The Dyers.

The podcast, which Danny co-hosts with daughter and new mum Dani, was joined by comedian Romesh Ranganathan, who lamented that his DIY skills aren't up to scratch.

Relating to the feeling, Mick Carter actor Danny told: "I once built a wardrobe and I built myself into it.

"I had to then smash my way out of the back. I don't know how I did it. I was very, very young. I built it the wrong way round and then I couldn't get out."

Romesh shared that it's "like a dagger to [his] heart" when someone comments on the dining chairs he built.

"All those traditionally male jobs, I'm just s**t at," he laughed, "We had dining chairs and they had to be assembled. I put them together and did it s***, so they're wonky and a bit c**p.

"Every times a guest comes round and says, 'this chair is a bit funny', it's like a dagger to my heart as I realise it's just another person commenting on my masculinity."

Meanwhile, as Dani adjusts to new motherhood, Danny is getting into his role as a granddad.

Dani and boyfriend Sammy Kimmence welcomed son Santiago in January, and according to Dani the little lad has revealed her own dad's softer side.

"My dad didn't realise [he would be so emotional about being a granddad]," she told the Made By Mammas podcast.

"He has been so emotional around Santiago, the other day he was really crying. He went, 'I love babies, but your baby. I have never felt anything like it. I didn't think I'd feel like this.'

"He hasn't experienced being a granddad yet, I made him a first time granddad. It has hit him more now.

"He did see me pregnant and getting bigger but seeing me with the baby, it's like, 'this is real now'."

And proud mum Dani has already put thought into Santi's future - including his career.

"I literally love our morning cuddles together," she said filming herself and Santi for an Instagram video, "I'm watching Billy Elliot and I just think… Imagine if he was Billy Elliot on the stage?

"I'd love it, I'd love him to be in the West End performing. “I don't know why I'm thinking about his career path, it's literally years, years, years away. I'm just excited for it."
