Danny Dyer's 'rude' joke about royal Camilla 'cut' from Olivier Awards broadcast

Danny Dyer reportedly made a very rude joke about Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as he took to the stage at this year's Olivier Awards.

And it's said that the gag shocked bosses so much they make sure it was chopped out of the show when it was broadcast later on Sunday on ITV.

EastEnders star Danny presented an award at the glitzy bash and apparently couldn't resist making a cheeky joke to Prince Charles' wife.

According to The Sun , he said to the royal: "No Charlie tonight? I'll pop up and see you later."

The newspaper reports that ITV bosses made sure the line got the chop when it aired on TV.

An insider said: "Danny's known for his cheeky humour but bosses were hoping he'd keep it in check - especially as Camilla was in the audience.

"The ceremony is very formal so anything close to the line makes producers nervous. Some saw his gag as a step too far. It had to be cut from the final broadcast, no question. It could have upset the Duchess."

The bash celebrates the best of British theatre, and saw stars come from across the globe to attend the glitzy ceremony at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Danny looked the part as he showed up in smart black trousers and a grey velvet jacket with a black bow tie.

The actor was snapped having a cheeky cigarette as he arrived at the famous venue, before hitting the red carpet.
