Danny Dyer pays touching tribute to 'good soul' Bradley Welsh after actor shot dead

Soap star Danny Dyer has honoured "good soul" Bradley Welsh after his tragic death.

Police are currently probing the murder of the Trainspotting 2 star after he was shot dead on Wednesday.

Now, EastEnders favourite Danny, who worked with Welsh on Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men in 2009, has remembered his co-star fondly.

Taking to social media, the TV star shared a picture of them together and wrote: “So sad to hear the news about Bradley Welsh.

"A good soul with a massive heart. A massive loss. Rest in Peace my old son.”

The 42-year-old star was gunned down in Edinburgh's west end, and later pronounced dead.

Police confirmed on Thursday that they are treating the incident as suspicious , and on the lookout for the culprit.

The actor, who has an eight year old daughter, played gangland kingpin Doyle in T2 and was pals with author Irvine Welsh.

The T2 writer said his "heart was broken" after hearing his "amazing and beautiful friend" had died.

"Thanks for making me a better person and helping me to see the world in a kinder and wiser way," he added.

Welsh was reportedly killed at around 8.30pm just steps away from his home.

Sources said he had suffered “life-threatening” wounds to the head.
