Danny Dyer congratulates daughter Dani after she gives birth to first baby

Danny Dyer has congratulated his eldest daughter Dani on the birth of her first child.

The former Love Island winner, 24, revealed she has welcomed a son with partner Sammy Kimmence on Sunday night.

Following the announcement, EastEnders actor Danny made a very rare social media appearance himself as he told fans he is thrilled to become a granddad.

Posting a photo of Dani in hospital clutching her newborn, Danny shared: "So my baby had a baby. F**k me we needed some joy this year.

"So proud of you @danidyerxx cannot wait to meet the little beaut."

The Mick Carter actor's post quickly picked up lots of attention from his followers with many of his fellow EastEnders cast-members sharing their best wishes.

Tilly Keeper and Davood Ghadami both wrote 'congratulations' underneath the post.

While chef Lisa Faulkner sent a string of love hearts.

Fellow London-born actor Ray Winstone shared: "Congratulations Danny boy and lots of love to your little girl and her lovely daughter," - prompting fans to reply that Danny had actually welcomed a son.

New mum Dani broke her happy news to the world on Sunday, telling fans she'd welcomed a baby boy after a long labour.

She wrote: "After a very long day and night finally our special little boy arrived 23/01/2021 weighing 7 pound.

"We are in a complete baby bubble and enjoying every moment, can not believe he is ours, completely in love and so grateful to be his mummy..

"Sending all my love to all the other mommas to be out there in lockdown.. the best experience ever will never forget this day."

Her dad Danny previously revealed he was gutted to not have the opportunity to meet his first grandchild in hospital due to coronavirus restrictions.

“I’m obviously a bit concerned because you’re having a pandemic kid, which rules out me going up the hospital.

"I don’t think I’m allowed to see my own grandchild. That is very upsetting."
