Danny Cowley says goal hungry Tyler Walker has been on Lincoln City's wishlist 'forever'

Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley says Tyler Walker has been on his radar since he was an Under-18s player at Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old has joined the Imps on loan this season, reuniting with former teammate Jorge Grant at Sincil Bank.

And Cowley, who is now entering his fourth season in charge of Lincoln, was full of praise for the youngster after his side beat off stiff competition from Coventry City to land the striker's signature.

“He’s been on our wishlist forever,” said Cowley to LincolnshireLive.

“We’ve known Tyler from when he was in the Forest under-18 team which came through with a number of top players.

“We’ve followed his progress and he’s done very well. We much prefer to see him in our team than against our team.

“He’s a really single-minded kid. I’ve got to know him over the last year or so and he wants to score goals – it’s at the forefront of his mind.

“I see so many forwards these days who want to look good, but aren’t willing to front up and take the responsibility of being a number nine.

“Goals are so important to that position. Teams live and die by their number nine scoring goals, so we’re delighted to have Tyler with us.”

With Walker heading out of the City Ground, albeit on loan, the Reds are now left with only Lewis Grabban and Rafa Mir to lead the line on Trentside.

But Lamouchi revealed on Friday that the club are in no rush the land a striker and must instead ensure they find a player who can "make a difference" in the Championship.
