Danniella Westbrook's 'unfair' health update ahead of New Year

Danniella Westbrook has announced she spent Christmas apart from her family after she tested positive for coronavirus.

The former EastEnders actress issued the health update to her 77.5k Instagram followers.

She shared a picture from her bed and revealed she was frustrated at having to quarantine throughout the festive period.

The 48-year-old said: "I hate covid, So I had to isolate away from kids and family this Christmas."

Danniella also revealed her daughter Jodie Jenkins has tested positive ahead of New Year for the second year in a row.

She said: "My poor princess spends yet another NYE with covid... So unfair."

Danniella opened up on how she was suffering with severe depression after battling coronavirus in August.

She said: "So I had a great day at Friends Fest after coming out of covid and literally a week and half of depression.

“It was severe, severe depression, I was literally getting out of bed just to eat and sometimes not even to wash.

“It was much needed that I got up and went out today and a huge thank you to my good mate Kelli Hollis and her family for coming to get me and making me leave the house, get up and get my s**t together.

"Depression is in all of us and none of us can escape it, it’s just how it manifests sometimes.

"For me, it’s particularly bad since I had covid, but I feel like I have turned the corner so thank you guys. Thanks to my kids for their support, they have been on the end of the phone 24/7."

It has been a difficult year for Danniella as she also required treatment for a sinus infection after she went into intensive care at Aintree hospital last month.

The soap star regularly keeps fans informed of her health updates and is set for another operation in 2022.
