Danniella Westbrook is back in hospital to undergo surgery after a nasty sinus infection put her in intensive care.
The actress left fans concerned late last month after she needed urgent medical help days after vowing to beat her addictions.
The 47-year-old former EastEnders star was taken in, just days after she promised that she would "get clean".
But she has now returned to Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool after doctors feared the infection could 'reach her brain'. Danniella shared a picture in her hospital bed wearing gown in the north west.
She told her Instagram followers she felt "so overwhelmed and full of hope and gratitude".
She signed off the message: "Huge thanks to the most amazing surgeons and @ nhs team x".
During a previous hospital stay, the actress was told she might require surgery to prevent a repeat of the infection.
But fears were growing for the sick star during her ICU stay.
A source told The Sun at the time: "Danniella is really poorly. She ended up in ICU after antibiotics for a sinus infection didn't work.
"Experts were concerned infected mucus could track back to her brain, but she is being well cared for in hospital and is on the mend."
After battling addictions for cocaine and alcohol, Danniella opened up last month.
She vowed to turn her life around following years of drug abuse, admitting to blowing six-figures on substances since finding fame on the Square.
She told her followers: “Ok so here goes …. HONESTY POST Ok so it’s no secret since leaving rehab I’ve slipped and slides more than I have been straight I guess.
“But today I’ve joined a new gym restarted my herbal life and going back to the rooms tonight.
"I’m done with the drinking, the occasional packet and night out. I’m totally over it."
Danniella continued: “I know the best years of my whole adult life was the 14 years I spent clean and sober. So today’s the day I go back. Own my s**t. Pick up the newcomers ring with pride not shame.
“I haven’t had a rock bottom this time, I’m just all over the whole vicious circle that is crippling disease that stops me and from being the best me I can be and from reaching my full potential.
“I’m lucky this time I’m not crawling in the rooms a snivelling skinny bag head … I was meant for more than this and this last few years f**king about has show me, that cocaine and champagne ain’t got the high I want.”
