Rangers' Europa League clash with Brondby tomorrow has been given a high-risk tag, but Danish police insist they expect no trouble.
Travelling fans have been allocated 1,400 tickets for the tie, but Copenhagen's federation anticipate a couple of thousand more Ibrox supporters will be in the city to watch Steven Gerrard 's team.
It comes after Brondby were at the centre of a riot last week after a derby against FC Copenhagen with 61 fans sought because of clashes with the police, who were forced to draw guns on the supporters.
And their fans caused a scare at the Ibrox Europa League encounter when some of their 1,600 fans tried to storm the segregation barrier at half time to get at Rangers fans.
The Danish club has insisted no Rangers fan who has managed to get a ticket for the home end will gain entry and the local police force are confident there will be no incidents.
Vestegnens police inspector Mogens Lauridsensaid: "The match has been categorised as high-risk, but we are not worried about trouble during Thursday's game.
"The Scots have a tradition of travelling to the venue of their matches, even if they are not guaranteed tickets.
"There were also many Scots in Prague for their last away game too.
"We have a clear expectation that the majority of those who come without a ticket will stay at sports bars in Copenhagen to watch Rangers' match against Brondby."
