Danilho Doekhi ‘to be offered’ Rangers deal with three-year contract set to be on the table

Rangers are set to offer Danilho Doekhi a three-year contract, according to reports in the Netherlands.

The defender has a year left on his deal but is reportedly high on Steven Gerrard's wanted list and he could make a move for him this summer.

The Ibrox side face competition from Newcastle and Fulham in the English Premier League, with the Vitesse centre back looking to leave Holland and find a new challenge.

And Dutch paper De Gelderlander say Rangers want to take him to Glasgow and are favourites to get his signature if he is allowed to move in the summer.

Gerrard's side have a number of centre backs on their books already with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun, Jack Simpson, Niko Katic and George Edmundson all set to be available next summer.

The Rangers manager has spoken about how all six won't be at the club next season, with Edmundson currently out on loan at Derby and he could go out again.

Katic is also still struggling with his knee injury and will only return to training in pre-season.

Goldson is entering into his last 12 months of his contract, but is reportedly willing to sign an extended deal to stick around at the club.
