Danielle Lloyd has broken her silence on the “upsetting” Wagatha Christie trial and given her full support to Coleen Rooney.

Speaking to TalkTV, the former glamour model said it was “heartbreaking” to hear her name mentioned in court by Rebekah Vardy.

The wife of former England star Wayne Rooney publicly claimed Mrs Vardy’s account was the source behind three fake stories she had posted on her private Instagram account.

Mrs Vardy denied the claims and she is suing Mrs Rooney for libel.

During the trial, Mrs Vardy testified a message she had sent to agent Caroline Watt referring to a “nasty b***h” had likely been aimed at Ms Lloyd rather than Mrs Rooney.

Mrs Vardy was also asked about a text sent in August 2019 in which she told her agent to “leak the Maldives stuff” and referred to the “pregnant girl leak”.

She later claimed message related to an article in a magazine where Ms Lloyd had spoken about her Maldives honeymoon and her miscarriage.

Mrs Lloyd, who is married to Michael O'Neill, was around eight weeks pregnant when she miscarried in 2019.

In her written evidence, Mrs Vardy has denied leaking stories about Ms Lloyd.

Reacting to Mrs Vardy’s comments, Ms Lloyd said: “It’s honestly it really upset me and, you know, it’s brought back very bad memories. One of the text messages was talking about a miscarriage that I’d had in the past.

“And I was really, really distraught at the time, and obviously for that to be brought up again, it’s just been heartbreaking for me.”

Mrs Lloyd said she believed there would be “no winners” from the trial, despite offering her support to Mrs Rooney.

She said: “I think in the grand scheme of things, I don’t think there are going to be any winners because they’re going to be out of pocket, you know, financially, both of them.

“And I don’t think we will actually ever get to the bottom of who actually leaked those stories. So whatever the outcome, obviously, hopefully both girls can just get on with their lives, but obviously I am rooting for Coleen.”

Mrs Vardy and Mrs Rooney now face a wait to hear the result following the conclusion of the trial on Thursday.
