Danielle Armstrong says she had "abnormal" and "precancerous" cells removed after recently getting her smear test results back.
The former TOWIE star, 33, took to her Instagram to tell her 1.3million fans she had a colposcopy - a simple procedure that looks at the cervix - done on Thursday after nurses found some abnormal cells following her routine smear test.
She explained that during the colposcopy, nurses decided to use a "loop excision", which she described as using an electrical current to cut away the abnormal cells.
The TV star added that she had the abnormal cells removed as they were "precancerous" and means it can prevent them progressing to cancer in the future.
But the main message mum-of-one Danielle was trying to tell her followers is to book in for their smear test and to get checked, saying: "It can prevent cancer and save your life."
Alongside a photo of herself, Danielle said in the caption: "Is it uncomfortable… YES. Is their bleeding.. YES (a little). Can it prevent cancer & save your life. YES!!!
"I just want to share this post with you all because I know 90% of my followers are female and between 25-49. So please ladies if you have still got to book your Smear Test BOOK IT TODAY."
Danielle's fans were thankful she spoke up about the importance of smear tests, with many leaving sweet comments.
One person shared: "As a practice nurse who does smears everyday, I thank you for highlighting the importance of them! We have soooo many young girls who just don't turn up which is such a shame x so thank you."
"Good for you. I had this done 40 years ago and still here," a second shared.
"So important," a third added.
Danielle, who gave birth to her first daughter in May 2020, is looking incredible at the moment after shedding 42lbs of body fat.
She has been on a health kick after gaining around four stone when she was pregnant with little Orla.
