Daniel Theis available for matchup against Los Angeles Clippers

After being ruled questionable on Friday in preparation for the Boston Celtics’ matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, Daniel Theis has been upgraded to available.

Theis remains one of the Celtics’ few options in the post, with Aron Baynes out with a left foot contusion for an extended period of time.

On the season, Theis is averaging 6.8 points and four rebounds per game, playing 15.2 minutes a night.

However, when Baynes is absent, Theis’ numbers increase slightly. In the 18 games where Theis has played with Baynes on the sideline, the former averages 8.6 points a game, 5.2 rebounds and a blocked shot per night (0.7 overall on the year), garnering 18.9 minutes on average.

Theis has especially blossomed of late, scoring 20 with six rebounds and two blocks against the Los Angeles Lakers, while dropping 14 points on the Oklahoma City Thunder just two games prior to the Thursday night affair.
