Daniel Sturridge suing landlords over Netflix account labelled with n-word

Football star Daniel Sturridge is suing his former landlords for racial harassment after discovering a child’s Netflix account labelled n*****.

Former England ace Sturridge, 30, wants £100,000 damages after finding the slur while renting a mansion in Cheshire.

The striker moved into the £18,500-a-month house belonging to Alan O’Neill and wife Katie in 2018 during his six-year stint at Liverpool.

Sturridge and girlfriend Jamilla Ferreira say they were deeply offended after discovering the racially abusive profile when they accessed the O’Neill family’s Netflix app on their Apple TV account.

The profile belonged to the O’Neills’ youngest son who was 11.

It allegedly showed a caricature of a black person along with the racist term, according to documents filed at Manchester county court.

The O’Neills apologised and said they were unaware of the account.

They said their son was a rap fan and made a silly mistake, for which he had been punished.

They had also changed the account’s name and picture.

Sturridge, who now plays for Turkish team Trabzonspor, issued the writ after the O’Neills sued him for £67,000 unpaid rent. The star paid up.
