Daniel Stendel's Hearts future in the balance as agent reveals Ann Budge's stalling tactic frustration

Daniel Stendel looks likely to depart his position as Hearts manager after his agent revealed his frustration at the lack of progress on Ann Budge presenting her plan for next season.

The Jambos chief is currently focusing on saving her side from the relegation mire they were plunged into after the league was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Budge is the leading voice attempting to orchestrate a 14-10-10-10 set-up that would see her club, Partick Thistle and Stranraer saved from relegation.

Votes are due in on Monday, however Record Sport understands there will not be enough support to see the move come to fruition.

Stendel's agent Timo Rodewald has opened up on his frustration at seeing his options "handicapped" by the suspended animation the Gorgie club find themselves in.

He told the Scottish Daily Mail : "We are still waiting for more information or some sort of proposal from Ann (Budge).

"If we knew: 'OK it's in the Championship', fine. If we had a starting date for the Championship, and if the club had a clear vision of how to proceed, fine.

"If we knew when to start and what kind of football they wanted to play, what is their three-year plan and what are the aims and goals of the directors, it would help.

"If there was more clarity, then Daniel would say: "Okay, that sounds like a good project, let's go for it.

"But right now, we don't have any of the aspects I just mentioned.

"It's impossible to say yes or no because there is no proposal on the table to look at. We can't say yes or no to anything.

"It's just about waiting and of course there is small chance that they might still play in the Premiership next season .

"If that happens, we will still be under contract - so he is a little bit handicapped in terms of looking for other options. That makes it really difficult.

"We don't have any timescale for when this will become clear."

And Rodewald sees no prospect of the situation becoming clearer if Hearts lose their fight.

The intermediary is sure Budge will take her battle to the courts, an outcome he claims she says is becoming more likely.

He said: "Ann told me that she has the feeling that the SPFL is just postponing and postponing to reduce the chances of Hearts winning any award of court.

"In France, a court blocked the relegation (of Toulouse and Amiens from Ligue 1) and Ann will probably go to court.

"But the question is about the timing. It might take two to three months and, by then, the new season has started already. That is not helpful to Daniel."
