Daniel Stendel pinpoints Hearts quality that helped them beat Rangers as he aims to make Tynecastle a fortress

Hearts manager Daniel Stendel believes his players are beginning to buy into his ideas after a comeback win over Rangers, and urges fans to help make Tynecastle a fortress.

The Jambos fell behind to Ryan Kent's goal early in the second half but fought back with goals from Steven Naismith and Liam Boyce.

The result means Hearts are now just a point behind Hamilton in 11th and the German feels his philosophy is starting to take root.

Stendel told Sky Sports: "It was great, not just in terms of our organisation but also the fight from our team.

"We tried to play our game and it was only after half-time, for 10 or 15 minutes, we dropped a little bit too much back but we came back and that was important.

"I think we'd have deserved the point and we're very happy about the win and it's a great day for us.

"We work very hard in training and we try to change things on the match day but the important thing is for the players to believe in what we say and what we want to do - that we're a team.

"I think you could see today that everybody fought for everybody and that was important today."

Liam Boyce only signed yesterday but went straight into the team to make his debut.

Stendel said: "It was a great debut for him. In the first half he played very well he played a lot of balls. I'm very happy for him and for us that he scored the second goal.

"I think with 30 minutes left in the game he couldn't run more but a lot of players are injured and we could not change.

"We fought until the last minute, all of our players."

There was a spectacular atmosphere in Gorgie as the hosts came from behind to win, and Stendel was suitably impressed.

"I think it started in the Aberdeen game before the break and at the cup game there was a really good atmosphere again.

"When I say Tynecastle, this is our castle, yeah? It's very difficult to take points from Tynecastle."
